Knoll Model 1305-U Chair Bill Stephens originally designed this chair in 1972 with a woven cane seat . The cane webbing kept breaking along the front of the curved seat so he modified it with a molded plastic shell. The original latex foam had deteriorated to dust and was replaced with a layer of one inch urethane foam and quarter inch of closed cell foam.
